Mary & William Davies had six children, Elizabeth, David, Sarah Kate, William Evan, Daniel, Hetty & Mary they kept a furniture shop, Station Road, Llanelli.
John & Ann Evans they had five children, David, Evan, Thomas, Daniel & Elizabeth. Thomas was born in 1879 and died 1960 he married Miriam Jones born 1885 died 1967, they had Eight children, Ann, Mary, Simon Idris, Elizabeth Agness, Olwen, Miriam Eluned, Sarah Alma & Thomas John. Simon Idris married Olwen Pritchard, they had three children and farmed at Cwm Ffrwd, Carmarthenshire -their daughter Gwenda was a well known hairdresser in Camarthen Town.
Elizabeth - 1844 to 1952 married William Davies and had three children, Gwennie, Vennie aand William John, none of the children married Gwennie took over the Post Office in Abergorlech following her Father's retirement, Vennie was Head Mistress in Llandeilo, William John affectionately called Boyo by his family lived for a time in London before returning to Abergorlech and working as a Postman.
Daniel & Ann Jones had two children Evan and Sarah. Sarah married ------- Davies they had three children Rachel Ann who was a School Teacher and didn't marry, she often came to visit my Grandmother Hetty Ann Garfield, Daniel David who married Ann Lloyd who lived and farmed Maeslan Farm, Llansawel - in his youth Daniel travelled to London and owned and run a Dairy - most of the milk in London of the period came from Wales Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion by train daily, many a fortune was made in London by Welsh dairymen. Daniel and Ann had one children David Lloyd Davies, he is a solicitor lives on the farm (Maeslan) and is married with two children.
David married Jane Thomas had three children David John Born 1896 farmed Blaencwm Farm, Evan Lewis married Elizabeth Ann and Sarah Jane married John Thomas tailor.
Welsh dairies were an old tradition in London. Many farming families in West Wales had or have London offshoots descended from sons and daughters who went to supply milk to the metropolis in the 19th century and settled there in the strong London Welsh community (with its own chapels and Welsh language social life

Dewi Jones a great grandson of Evan donated his grandfathers cobblers tools to the Carmarthen Museum were they are on display.

This is the last will and testament of me Evan Jones Blaencwm upper division in the parish of Llanfynydd County of Carmarthen. After payment of all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses I ordain of my whole and my real personal property as stock crops implements and household furniture to be divided in two equal shares between my beloved wife and son Sarah Jones and David Jones I hereby appoint John Jones, Cothi View, Abergorlech as trustee and jointly executor with his brother David Jones of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former testamentary writings whereof I have hereunder set my hand this twenty nine day of November One thousand eight hundred and ninety four Evan Jones Signed and acknowledged by the said Evan Jones the testator as and for his last will and test- ament in the presence of us being present at the same time who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other here have unto subscribe your names as witness |
